مقامات هو برنامــــــج أفــــــلام قصيــــــرة شهــــــرى من قبلــــــة فى الصحــــــراء. استوحينا اسم البرنامــــــج من المقــــــامات وهى شكــــــل أدبى قديم يتميز بقِصَــــــر المدة، وتواتر نفس الشخصــــــيات فى أزمــــــنة وأماكن مختلفة، فى أســــــلوب يشــــــبه الفيلم القصير
هذه النسخة من مقامات هى تعاون بين قبلة فى الصحراء ومهرجان منصات
تتشـــارك أفلام مقامات تيمة شهرية وتعرض بترجمة عربية/إنجليزية؛ هادفين لخلـــق برنامج متضمن كافة أطياف المشاهدين ومشيع للفيلم القصير بين الجمهـــور المصـــرى المعتاد على الفيلم الطويل. عرضت أفلام النسخــــة الحادية عشر الساعة السادسة والربع مســــاء ١ يونية، ٢٠٢٤، فى سينما زاوية

Maqamāt is a monthly short film programme, curated by A Kiss in the Desert. Inspired by the Maqamāt, a concise literary format, with recurring characters adapting different roles, in a manner like that of a short film.
This edition is a collaboration between A Kiss in the Desert and Manassat Film Festival.
The short films curated each month share a theme, and are screened with English/Arabic subtitles; aiming to expand the short films viewership in Egypt. The programme was screened on June 1st, 2024, at Zaywa Arthouse Cinema.

The Meatseller is the true story of Selinna Ajamikoko, a young Nigerian woman who dreams of becoming a meatseller like her mom. She begins her voyage towards Italy, an experience full of atrocity and inhumanity. This animated journey, led by Selinna’s own voice, guides us through the quest for identity that characterizes every human being.

A child is lost from her mother and refuses to move from the same place. A policeman stops everyone else to make her move. The still girl and the policeman that guards her stop traffic and stir up the city’s hearts.
