مقامات هو برنامــــــج أفــــــلام قصيــــــرة شهــــــرى من قبلــــــة فى الصحــــــراء، بالتعاون مع مهرجان منصات السينمائى. استوحينا اسم البرنامــــــج من المقــــــامات وهى شكــــــل أدبى قديم يتميز بقِصَــــــر المدة، وتواتر نفس الشخصــــــيات فى أزمــــــنة وأماكن مختلفة، فى أســــــلوب يشــــــبه الفيلم القصير
تتشـــارك أفلام مقامات تيمة شهرية وتعرض بترجمة عربية/إنجليزية؛ هادفين لخلـــق برنامج متضمن كافة أطياف المشاهدين ومشيع للفيلم القصير بين الجمهـــور المصـــرى المعتاد على الفيلم الطويل. عرضت أفلام النسخــــة الحادية عشر الساعة السابعة مســــاء ٣٠ مايو، ٢٠٢٤، فى سينما زاوية

رافــــي، معلم تربية رياضية في قريــــة صغيرة. تنقلب حياتــــه رأسًــــا على عقب عندما يُغشــــى على أحــــد تلاميــــذه في الصــــف. تتــــأزم الأمــــور حين يعتــــرف رافــــي بأنه أجبر التلاميذ على الوقوف رأسًــــا على عقب كتدريب للتحميــــة في حين كانت درجة الحرارة تحت الصفــــر

تتأمــــل قرود اللنغــــور عالمهــــا وهو في طــــور التحــــول. في فيلم تغيــــرات، يتشــــارك البشــــر والحيوانــــات والموسيقى والحجــــر في الحــــوار. صــــور الفيلم في قريــــة هامبــــي في ولاية كــــارناتاكــــا، الهنــــد، بين أطــــلال المدينة القديمــــة التي أصبحــــت موقعًــــا للتراث العالمي. هذه القريــــة، المبعثــــر في أرجائهــــا أطلال وأحجــــار من قديــــم الأزل، قد تكون هي ذاتهــــا مملكــــة القــــردة الأسطــــورية. اليــــوم، صــــارت هذه القريــــة ســــكنى قــــرود اللنغــــور، وهي فصيلــــة من فصــــائل قــــرود العالــــم القديــــم التي تســــكن شبــــه القــــارة الهنديــــة. يتحــــرى الفيــــلم التقاطعــــات بين الأزمنــــة التاريخية والجيولوجيــــة، الواقــــع والأسطــــورة، الحي والمحفــــوظ، والإنســــان والحيــــوان

Maqamāt is a monthly short film programme, curated by A Kiss in the Desert in collaboration with Manassat Film Festival. Inspired by the Maqamāt, a concise literary format, with recurring characters adapting different roles, in a manner like that of a short film.
The short films curated each month share a theme, and are screened with English/Arabic subtitles; aiming to expand the short films viewership in Egypt. The programme was screened on May 30th, 2024, at Zaywa Arthouse Cinema.

1. Eeva, Morten Tšinakov, Lucija Mrzljak, Estonia/Croatia, 2022, 16’
It’s pouring down with rain at the funeral. There’s a lot of crying, too much wine, several woodpeckers and a couple of dreams that fill in the gaps.
2. Handstand, Ovsanna Shekoyan، Armenia, 2021, 15’
Raffi is a young physical education teacher in a small village school. Everything changes in his normal life when one of the kids faints during his class. The situation gets more tense when Raffi confesses that the kids were doing a handstand to warm up in the gym at a temperature below zero.
3. Slow Shift, Shambhavi Kaul, India/U.S., 2023, 9’
Langurs contemplate their world as it changes around them. The film is shot in Hampi, India in the remains of a 14th-century city. This city, strewn with ancient ruins and massive boulders, some of the oldest in the world, is also said to be the mythic monkey kingdom of ancient lore. Currently, the site is overrun with langurs, a genus of “old world monkeys”. The film playfully interrogates various intersections between ancient and geological timescales, the real and mythic, the lived and preserved, and human and animal.

5. Goodbye Jérôme! dir. Adam Silllard, Gabrielle Selnet, Chloé Farr 2021, France, 7’
Having just arrived in paradise, Jérôme sets out to find his wife Maryline. In the course of his search, he sinks into a surreal and colourful world in which no one seems to be able to help him.
