مقامات هو برنامــــــج أفــــــلام قصيــــــرة شهــــــرى من قبلــــــة فى الصحــــــراء، بالتعاون مع زاوية؛ سينما الأفــــــلام المستقلــــــة الرائدة فى القاهــــــرة. استوحينا اسم البرنامــــــج من المقــــــامات وهى شكــــــل أدبى قديم يتميز بقِصَــــــر المدة، وتواتر نفس الشخصــــــيات فى أزمــــــنة وأماكن مختلفة، فى أســــــلوب يشــــــبه الفيلم القصير
تتشـــارك أفلام مقامات تيمة شهرية وتعرض بترجمة عربية/إنجليزية؛ هادفين لخلـــق برنامج متضمن كافة أطياف المشاهدين ومشيع للفيلم القصير بين الجمهـــور المصـــرى المعتاد على الفيلم الطويل. عرضت أفلام النسخــــة السادسة الساعة السابعة مســــاء ١٠ سبتمبر، ٢٠٢٣، فى سينما زاوية

أفلام البرنامج بترتيب العرض
١. جندى، فرانشيسكو سانشيز سوليس، المكسيك، ٢٠٢١، ١٤ ق
فى سنىّ الثورة المكسيكيــّـة الدمويـــة، يعثر صبىٌ مزارع على جثة جنـــدى ملقـــاة فى حقـــل الصبـــار. يقــــرر الفتى أن يســـرق متعلقـــات الجنـــدى المقتـــول ويرتــــدى ملابســــه. يلقى الصبى بعدهــــا مقاتلًا مجروحًا من مقاتلى الثورة، فيأســـره مقاتل الثورة، ظنًا منه بأنه واحـــد من الجنـــود. يبدأ الثائر وأسيـــره الصبى رحلـــة طويلـــة واعـــرة يســـبران فيها غور أكثر البيئـــات عدائيـــة وقســـوة. فى أثناء الرحلـــة يتعـــرف الصبى والثائر ببعضهم البعض بصـــورة أعمق ويتجلى شيئٌ من الإنســـانية المشتـــركة بينهما. يقـــرر الثائر إطـــلاق ســـراح الصبى أخيـــرًا، على غير علم منه بأن طريقه والفتى ستتقاطعان مرة أخيرة قريبًـــا

Maqamāt is a monthly short film programme, curated by A Kiss in the Desert in collaboration with Zawya, the leading art house cinema in Cairo. Inspired by the Maqamāt, a concise literary format, with recurring characters adapting different roles, in a manner like that of a short film.
The short films curated each month share a theme, and are screened with English/Arabic subtitles; aiming to expand the short films viewership in Egypt. The programme was screened on September 10th, 2023, at Zaywa Arthouse Cinema.

1. Soldado, Francisco Sánchez Solís, Mexico, 2021, 14’
During the bloody years of the Mexican Revolution, a curious teenager discovers the lifeless body of a soldier in a cactus field. When he decides to steal the soldier’s belongings, the boy is captured by a wounded revolutionary fighter. A painful journey across an inhospitable landscape confronts the young peasant and the revolutionary against each other. The revolutionary decides to release the boy, but soon their paths cross again one last time.
2. To Vancouver, LuisArtemis Anastasiadou, 2021, 25’
Two siblings, one spell, wounded landscapes and an inevitable departure.
A short chronicle of a disappearing act in the times of the new Depression.
3. Memoir of a Veering Storm, Sofia Georgovassili, Greece, 2022, 14’
It is a morning in September. A storm is about to break. A mother drives a girl to school in the morning and picks up a woman at the end of the school day. Anna, a fifteen-year-old girl sneaks out of school, and with the help of her boyfriend, they visit a hospital. There, she has to face an event that will jolt her into adulthood.
