تتشـــارك أفلام مقامات تيمة شهرية وتعرض بترجمة عربية/إنجليزية؛ هادفين لخلـــق برنامج متضمن كافة أطياف المشاهدين ومشيع للفيلم القصير بين الجمهـــور المصـــرى المعتاد على الفيلم الطويل. عرضت أفلام النسخة الثامنة عشرة الساعة السابعة مسـاء ٢٥ فبراير، ٢٠٢٥، فى سينما زاوية
فبراير ٢٠٢٥: الأرض (٤)
Maqamāt is a monthly short film programme, curated by A Kiss in the Desert in collaboration with Zawya, the leading art house cinema in Cairo. Inspired by the Maqamāt, a concise literary format, with recurring characters adapting different roles, in a manner like that of a short film.
The short films curated each month share a theme, and are screened with English/Arabic subtitles; aiming to expand the short films viewership in Egypt. The programme was screened on 25/02/25, at Zaywa.

An aging activist wages a solitary struggle against the expansion of an oil refinery in his tiny fishing village. All the while the other villagers are infectiously united in their indecisiveness between sustainable change and short-term social security.

مارى-روز أسطا، لبنان، ٢٠٢١، (١٥ ق)تصل سيارة ڤان إلى إحدى غابات لبنان الشتائية. يترجل من السيارة رجلان، ويمضيان فى مهمة أتوا لأجلها. فقط الأشجار العالية والسماء الرمادية تشهد عليهم. مددجين بالفؤوس والحبال والجواريف، يصل الرجلان لهدفهما: شجرة مورقة فى قلب الغابة العارية
In the Lebanese wintery wilderness, a mini-van arrives. Two men get off the van into the cold forest and set off on their quest. The tall trees and the grey sky are their witnesses. Armoured with a shovel, a rope, and an axe, they soon arrive at their destination: a lonely verdant tree amid the naked forest.
